Lucy & James’s fun, colourful and relaxed farm wedding in Dorset, with Robin Goodlad Photography
How is your week going? Do you have sunshine? It’s been beautiful here… I think spring is my favourite season of all when it’s like this! I could almost be on my laptop in the garden right now!
We’ve had a week of beautiful weddings and features, and today’s is a real favourite: the relaxed and elegant styling is fabulous; Lucy & James are gorgeous and their day looks so much fun. It’s all beautifully captured by our friend and outstanding Dorset wedding photographer Robin Goodlad Photography.
Lucy’s Alice Temperley gown takes my breath away. The delicate embroidery and soft, swishing fabric of that fabulous skirt make this a true dream dress!
Having a boho / rustic wedding can still involve lots of styling and creative projects, and I fell head over heels for all the foliage in Lucy & James’s marquee – they made hazel frames running along all the tables and hung hops and other foliage from it – it looks fabulous. Even the bar is covered in hops! I love it!
Wedding photographer’s website:
“We met Robin a couple of years ago and had kept in touch ever since, working with him on some photography for our cured meat business. When we got engaged there was no question about who we wanted to ask to be our wedding photographer.
Robin has the most incredible eye for a shot and puts everyone instantly at ease. He doesn’t miss a moment, even if you don’t quite realise that moment is happening at the time. His attention to detail is second to none and he picks up on really stunning nuances.
It was so special not only seeing the photos ourselves for the first time but also sharing them with our friends and family. The reaction was unbelievable. The photos captured the atmosphere of the day perfectly and it’s a really nice feeling knowing that everyone can relive those moments when they look at the photos.

Wedding venue:
We got married at James’ parents farm in rural Dorset which has incredible views of the rolling countryside. Our friends and family pitched in gathering foliage, growing dahlias and making bunting to give the day a unique and colourful vibe. Even though the weather was challenging Robin used this to his advantage and chose creative shots to complement the moodiness of the sky. When the clouds did eventually clear, Robin took a breathtaking shot of us under the bright and shining milky way. He captured so many memories and was an absolute pleasure to have as our photographer on the big day.
