Laura & Tom’s summer garden wedding at Northbrook Park, with Fiona Kelly Photography
I am LOVING all of this sunshine!! What a fabulous weekend it’s been so far – and it’s about to get that little more amazing because I have the most stunning wedding to share with you! This is gorgeous couple Laura & Tom, who married at Northbrook Park in May. Laura wears the dreamiest boho dress by Inbal Raviv, which she bought from Luella’s Bridal and wore for the entire weekend: it was so beautiful she didn’t want to take it off! The beautiful images are by lovely Fiona Kelly Photography.

We looked at quite a few photographers online, and went through lots of different albums to see their respective style. We both wanted someone who would take natural photos, and really capture the essence of the day rather than posed, structured photographs. Our brief was to be the fly on the wall that captured everyones emotion throughout the day. We found Fiona online, and after a quick Skype call decided she was the one for us!
Fiona is absolutely amazing, I’ve never met anyone so professional yet accessible and down to earth. She is forever smiling, and went above and beyond throughout the day to make sure everything was running smoothly. She instantly felt like one of the congregation and one of our guests, which was very important to us.
What helps all of this is how talented she is as a photographer. We absolutely love all our photos, and her knack of capturing the moment is present in every single shot.
The photos came through when we were both at work, and neither of us could wait until we got home so we both viewed our photos for the first time with our respective colleagues. Perhaps a little untraditional, but we were so excited to see them we just couldn’t wait.
Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
The most fun, relaxed and happy day ever
Your wedding style or theme:
We didn’t really have a specific theme, the venue did all the talking. The venue had a really great inside/outside summer garden feel to it. We just topped it up with some rustic style decorations and simple English summer garden party styling, with a boho twist.
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
Most of my suppliers I found on instagram
What’s your top tip for saving money?
Less really is more, people don’t remember the finer details. The best decoration is the smiles on peoples faces, and a hand tied messy bouquet!
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
My dress… It was definitely over budget but I wore it all day the next day too! I didn’t want to take it off.
I also surprised Tom with a videographer, which although a little ‘extra’ was totally worth it and we now have an incredible highlights film of the day which shows us all of the bits we missed
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
My friend hand painted the table plan for me, she is very talented. Wedding stationery was a mixture of hand made and bought online.
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes, of course!
Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:
My wedding dress from from Luella’s Bridal in Wimbledon Village and the designer is Inbal Raviv
Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
I kept it really simple. I completely forgot to bring my necklace, which was a shame but Tom surprised me with a bracelet to wear the night before the wedding. Other than the rings, that was it! My shoes were a simple pair of block heels from Office
And what did the groom wear?
He wore a suit from Hugo Boss. Not a shop he’d usually shop in, but the suit was great and he looked fabulous
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
The girls all wore the same dress from Asos. They were a light blue colour with a vintage inspired sequence top over a simple floor length dress. Oh, and a cheeky thigh split
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
I have a friend who is a make up artist, so she kindly did all our hair and make up
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
My florist was amazing, the best florist out there! They’re called Lavender Hill and they have a very rustic/boho style to them. My flowers were all pretty wild, untidy and informal. More English country meadow than bouquet of roses.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
No not at all, it is a beautiful orangery draped in vines and the gardens are pristine
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
I made the table plan our of old apple crates and my friend hand painted each table plan.
We made an order of the day out of an apple crate
All place cards were hand written
It was fun, the key was not to take on too much
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
My sister made my wedding cake. She did a naked cake covered in flowers and then made 160 cake pops that we displayed in aluminium troughs, on a bed of moss. She made two types of cake pop, one for the groom & one for the bride.
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
We had a live band – a must for any wedding!
Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:
Don’t get bogged down in the silly details – people won’t notice if the cake is missing a flower, or whether the confetti is handed out in a cone or from a bucket. Just enjoy it, if you’re getting stressed out you might not enjoy the day!
What’s the best thing about being married?
Getting to look back on all the photos and the video
